We’re heading home in a few days from a really restful break. It has been needed and difficult at the same time. We love our work so much that a vacation sometimes feels like work, but we’ve gotten the hang of it…

I went for a run this morning, as I mentioned in a post with Kathleen today. To stay focused on the breathing and ease of the run instead of the heat and humidity, I turned my thoughts to where I sense spiritual connection. I remembered a conversation on that topic with a friend sitting in a New York diner many many years ago. A lapsed Irish Catholic, he asked what God meant to me. I responded after thinking for a while, “I see God in people, large groups of them, existing together through struggle and strife, joy and happiness, work, play, living.” I was of course describing my urban life. It kept me well preoccupied and soon I was at the end of my run this morning having gone farther than ever. I now see that my experience is still that of seeing spiritual presence in everything, though currently, I love seeing it through the lens of creative expression, hence the Art of the Song tag line… We All Have A Song to Sing… I hope you all are singing loud these days!
