John and I recently presented a workshop at the Albuquerque Diversity Leadership Council’s annual forum. It was a peak experience I must say. Members of our group were mostly from Sandia Labs and a few other big corporations from around the City of Albuquerque. Administrators and scientists with a love of music. Together we did an exercise that required them to use each other’s words to create an essay. The most extraordinary thing was that several of the participants, self proclaimed non-singers, sang the result of their work spontaneously. I will never underestimate the power of teamwork and inspiration. The songs that run through us like rivers connect us on a cellular level. So, all you songwriters, never underestimate the power of the work you are doing! It is worthy, has meaning and is an important part of the fabric of our lives here. Keep it up!
